SOCIAL SECURITY OR SEARCHING THE SCRIPTURES TO KNOW THE

In today’s Loveland Reporter-Herald newspaper there is a column that is called the R-H line. It is a call-in one. I have used it many times instead of writing the Open Forum. Today, I was reading the call-in and this is what the person had called in:

[“Each year the government figures the cost of living to know if people on Social Security will get an increase in their benefits. This year they eliminated the cost of food and energy for their figuring. The premium for Medicare will increase, so when it’s all said and done, most retirees will get a cut in their benefits. Good luck to you.”]

Well, I wonder if this is all true or just someone’s thinking. This year my eyes were operated on, I am seeing much better, but still not seeing what I should as I seem to miss a lot or maybe I missed a lot for so long that now I have just not caught up to the things that are going on in our community, county, state and nation ~~~ or world like I should.

This world is in such a mess, one wonders how things can stand as is for much longer. Mankind seems to be at each other’s throats about something or other all the time. Sure ‘signs of the times.’

I sure pray that we can and will all stand firm in our values and ask God to send His Holy Spirit daily to fill us up and to stand in prayer for us in the presence of the Lord. It is time that we come together and most of all stand true to God’s principles of truth and reject error and sin that so easily besets us as human beings. It is only in taking on the ‘Character of God’ that we can stand true. His Character is being challenged all over the world. If we do not know and understand the ‘Character of God’ how can we stand true to His word. If we do not know Him, how can we stand. . . . true to anything as important in this life as ‘our eternal life.’

He wants to bring us home to live with Him forever, He wants an intimate relationship with His people, but we have a choice. . . do we want to truly know Him or do we not care enough to study and spend quality time with the God of the Universe ~ ~ and really get to know Him, truly know Him.

I pray that we all study, and spend that time with Him. . . God bless you all is my prayer.

Love yah!

3 Bullets

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets.

So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner.

As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away.

Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel, but missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood treel.

As he went further, he saw a large, wild "Tom" turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining.

A voice spoke to him and said, "Pray first, aim high, and stay focused."

However, at the same time he saw a deer which was a better kill.

He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs, about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake.

Still, the voice said again to him, "I said, 'Pray, Aim high, and Stay focused."

So, the man decided to listen to God's voice.

He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree, and shot the wild turkey.

The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer.

The handle fell off the gun, hit the snake in the head, and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond.

When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer, and a turkey for his family to eat.

The snake, (Satan), was dead simply because the man listened to God.

Moral of the story:
Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God.
