Some folks claim that God's to blame
For the world's hunger and depression
He's only just 'giving us
More time for meditation'
Why must we hurry and scurry
And never take time for thought
We must remember our ticket to heaven
When we look the Good Book through
We'll find in many a place,
How God's children were punished when
They forgot Him in Life's Race.
Can we expect the God of Heaven
To fill our every wish while we spurn
His Holy Name and in the end
Bring nothing in return.
Had we the faith of men of old
The Love for Him who died
To save us from our many sins
Our needs He would provide.
For He who clothed the sparrow
Provided also their feed
And He in His infinite Mercy
Will not forget us in our need.
