SABBATH +

It was a full day, fuller than I guess that my bod wanted it to be, so when I got home from church and visiting friends plus called Mary, went to lie down on the bed and was out like a light. I slept about 2 hours. Now I know that I was tired, but zapped is more the truth of it than just tired.

Sabbath was awesome as usual. Pastor's Class, then the sermon; lifted you up and fill you full of the of God's word; so that one is so warm inside that by the time you get home you are ready for some lay activity for sure.

Our dinner after church was good, sharing a repast with our church family and friends is such a delight. . . really a great bunch of cooks too. A former pastor used to say, "Come join us for the fellowship dinner, it is the best restaurant in tow
n." That is one time if you go away hungry it's your fault not theirs.

I know that as much as I enjoy good food, the fellowship of others of like faith is so wonderful and it is this time that I enjoy getting to know people a little better than before. One of our dear ladies is having surgery in the next few days and I pray that all goes well for her, she says that she is chicken as she has never had any type of surgery in her life before, but has worked in surgery in her younger days. Said, I know what happens in there and it scares me. We had prayer with her before we left their home. May the Lord surround her with His love
and may He guide the surgeons and nurses etc. bring complete renewal to her body.

Well, in a few hours a new week will be here, then the holidays are upon us. May the One who's birthday we celebrate at this time of the year, truly be Christ centered. He is the reason for the season.

If Christ is the Lord of our lives, then may He be the Center of all that we do or say. Merry Christmas one and all, Let's put Christ back in the Merry instead of Happy Holidays. Merry Christ . . mas Y'all.

3 Bullets

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets.

So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner.

As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away.

Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel, but missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood treel.

As he went further, he saw a large, wild "Tom" turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining.

A voice spoke to him and said, "Pray first, aim high, and stay focused."

However, at the same time he saw a deer which was a better kill.

He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs, about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake.

Still, the voice said again to him, "I said, 'Pray, Aim high, and Stay focused."

So, the man decided to listen to God's voice.

He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree, and shot the wild turkey.

The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer.

The handle fell off the gun, hit the snake in the head, and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond.

When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer, and a turkey for his family to eat.

The snake, (Satan), was dead simply because the man listened to God.

Moral of the story:
Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God.
