MY PRAYER TO THE LORD

MY PRAYER TO THE LORD

Dear Lord,
My hearty is cast down Lord, and this it shouldn’t be,
For thou hast given me so much, I cannot ‘ere repay.
You have done so much for me, what have I done for thee?
Dear Lord, I love you, but each and every day I fall so short of what I ought to do for thee.
It’s me or I or we- - - that keep me from your will
The ole devil’s always pitching Lord, and on my face I fall
Help me dear Lord I pray to put I and me behind - -
Trust in thee for my strength and keep me in they way.

I need thee Lord in each and every way, lift me and
Help me to be humble, but not inadequate
And when weak give me strength. Help me to remember
Always, that because you are my Shepherd, I have everything I need.

Give me a song in my heart to sing to the world out there
A song of thy love for all and thy salvation to proclaim,
Lead me Lord, be it here or Timbuktu, I am thy servant
Lord, they will to do.

Help, me not to shirk, but remember as Paul of long ago,
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Thank you Lord, I know you’re always there,
But oft I fall behind as there is so much to do
What would we do without you Lord, why do we feel as we do.
For even in our darkest hour thou are ever near.

Our prayers so oft are a one sided telephone conversation, Lord.
We ring you up and off we go, I this, me that, or we - -
And say good night not waiting for your answer
Help us to call dear Lord and say,
“Lord, I’ve rattled on and Lord
Instead “Hello Lord, what have you for me today
I’m here Lord; thank you Lord; I love you Lord’
So long for now, call me anytime Lord
Good day Lord.

3 Bullets

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets.

So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner.

As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away.

Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel, but missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood treel.

As he went further, he saw a large, wild "Tom" turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining.

A voice spoke to him and said, "Pray first, aim high, and stay focused."

However, at the same time he saw a deer which was a better kill.

He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs, about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake.

Still, the voice said again to him, "I said, 'Pray, Aim high, and Stay focused."

So, the man decided to listen to God's voice.

He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree, and shot the wild turkey.

The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer.

The handle fell off the gun, hit the snake in the head, and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond.

When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer, and a turkey for his family to eat.

The snake, (Satan), was dead simply because the man listened to God.

Moral of the story:
Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God.
